Ye are the Salt of the Earth

Believers are called to be the Salt of the Earth. But, have we lost our flavor? Can the world see the difference? Or does the salt appear to be like sugar?

Banner Scripture:

Matthew 5:13-16 KJV

v13 - Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

v14 - Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

v15 - Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

v16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Verse 16 tells us to let our light shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven.

This is a reminder that we are Christ's representatives on the Earth.

How will we lead others to Christ if our light has grown dim and we've lost our savour (become foolish)?

We must stay in constant prayer and walk in the Spirit and not after the flesh. It's a choice we have to make every day as the spirit is willing but our flesh is weak.

We can also proclaim Jesus wherever we go, be a witness for Him with our lifestyle, and show the love of Christ to others. It's our responsibility as believers to lift Him up in a world that so desperately needs Him.

Remember the 5 foolish and 5 wise virgins.

We must not be like the foolish virgins and think we have enough oil to make it until the bridegroom (Jesus) returns for His Bride (the church - believers). We must continue to trim our lamps. We trim our lamps (our lives) through increased prayer, fasting, studying, meditating on the Word and being about our Father's business - sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Let's be encouraged and motivated to continue to lift up the name of Jesus to all nations, kindred and tongues!
